E.S.I. Healthy Dentistry Teeth Whitening Instructions
When you leave our office after picking up a custom made whitening tray, you’re looking to get your best results. Following the below directions can help you get there!
Check how wide your smile is and count how many teeth show on each side of the midline (between your two front teeth) when smiling. Map out the shown teeth on the whitening trays.
Place only one dot of whitening solution on the front surface inside of the bleaching trays on the teeth that show when smiling. The solution will spread across the teeth after being placed in the mouth. Placing whitening solution on teeth that do not show when smiling is unnecessary and results in wasting whitening solution. By only placing one dot of solution in your tray you will also prevent the solution from touching your gums.
It is recommended you leave the trays with the solution in the mouth overnight if you can tolerate it. Some people may prefer to whitening for one hour in the morning and one hour at night.
Continue whitening until desired shade is achieved. Once you are pleased with the shade of your teeth, you may stop whitening. After six months you can whiten again.
